Bugs in Your Drink
Next time you think about buying anything red to drink it might be wise to check the label to see if either the term "carmine" because it could refer to a red dye produced by grinding up insects and including their bodies in the food or drink. The cochineal is an insect that was recently revealed to be one of the ingredients in the Starbucks strawberry frappuccino.
Lead on Your Lips
After finding that there is a significant amount of lead in lipsticks, the FDA moved slowly to do any further investigation into the matter. You can find more information about what the FDA has done in terms of investigating the amount of lead in lipstick here.
Fire on Your Ice
According to Adam during an episode of Mythbusters, one can set fire to an ice cube by spraying it with hairspray or some other flammable substance. I might have to try this some time just to say I once set fire to ice. I suppose I am aware of the fact that there are a whole host of household products that are extremely flammable but I don't think it ever would have occurred to me to combine them with ice.
I'm not too worried about drinking ground up bugs, but getting a lead-laced kissed from a lipstick-clad lady doesn't sound like a good time.
ReplyDeleteNow, nice facts and pretty scary you got there. About starbucks, I have heard before, all coffees served in starbucks are non-veg and the arabica beans, the coffee bean extracted from excrement seemed or said to have more taste and the starbucks statistics have you seen around 97% rejected and only 3% coffee bean selected - looks like they are from shit.
ReplyDelete:)
Not Arabica but different coffee bean I guess Kopi Luwak

Not just any shit...I believe they harvest it from the shit of a certain breed of cat. I learned that from a movie...The Bucket list.
DeleteYeah I'm with Mike as far as bugs go. Lipstick.. I don't like my ladies with lipstick. And setting ice on fire sounds like fun!
ReplyDeleteDo you have any idea how much lipstick I wear!?! I am screwed.
ReplyDeleteI don't know why I find the bug ingredient so funny.
ReplyDeleteewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!!! ;)
I'm not that surprised there are bugs in Starbucks. I'm never likely to actually drink anything from there though, so I'm safe. Setting fire to ice would be SO DAMN AWESOME.
ReplyDeleteThese are interesting facts buddy, it's disgusting to hear I could be drinking bugs though, I won't lie.
ReplyDeleteNice post man!
ReplyDeleteAll of these are interesting, thanks for letting us know. I already knew about the first one for a while.
ReplyDeleteI'm cool with insect products in my fruity beverages.
ReplyDeleteI'm no stranger to drinking bugs...or having lead on my lips for that matter. What? It rubbed off from kissing girls! No I don't wear lipstick!
ReplyDeleteI read somewhere that they also use ground up swim bladders from fish to keep wine and beer clear...
ReplyDelete:O
ReplyDeleteBugs... yum O.o
ReplyDeleteOoh now that gives me something to do while I'm off school :D (with regards to the setting ice on fire)
